my mistake. I have the K580 which looked fairly similar and was keyboard only. it worked with unifying receiver. had got it off staples.

I have the unify compatible version of this. Wonder they make two versions of the same keyboard. I like the quiet keys but of course it's not feature rich in terms of buttons like other keyboards

Either way the receiver will work for the mouse and keyboard. Unless you plan on using this combo with other devices. the included receiver is sufficient for its use case.
